Significant military movements have been reported in the Kalat district of Pak-occupied-Balochistan, as the Pakistan Army, accompanied by Army-supported armed groups, advances on a large scale. Reportedly, sightings of gunship helicopters and other military aircraft in the area, indicating a possible military operation in response to recent attacks.
In Kalat city and Mangchar a substantial influx of Pak Army, including Frontier Corps and police, alongside Army-backed armed groups, the brutal “death squads”. The military presence extends to the area between Harboi and Mehlabbi.
The heightened military activity follows a recent major attack by the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) near Kalat city. In this assault, the BLA reportedly targeted the Pakistan Army’s central camp and security checkpoints in the Iskalko area, inflicting heavy casualties among the forces. According to BLA claims, they successfully captured the military camp, seizing weapons and ammunition before setting the facility ablaze.
In what appears to be a direct response to this attack, Pakistan Army gunship helicopters have been observed conducting frequent flights from Quetta, the provincial capital. These aerial movements, combined with the ground troop advancements, suggest a significant military operation may be underway in the Kalat region.
Military operations have become frequent in Pak-occupied-Balochistan, innocent Baloch community are living in fear and atrocity since the forceful occupation in 1948.
