Two Baloch youths have allegedly been abducted by Pakistani forces from the coastal city of Gwadar and the Mastung district of Balochistan.
The detainees have been identified as Sameer Hamza and Kalimullah son of Abdul Hakim Shahwani.
According to reports, Sameer Hamza was detained in Gwadar on Saturday evening, while Kaleemullah Baloch was abducted allegedly by Pakistani law-enforcement forces from Kadkocha town of Mastung.
Meanwhile, a statement issued by Haq-Do-Tehreek strongly condemning the enforced disappearance of Sameer Hamza and demanded his immediate release.
“Unless institutions change their policies, it will be difficult for them to maintain law and order, and justice is essential for peace, as establishing peace with oppression will be a dream,” the statement read.
However, government authorities have not commented on the matter, and the whereabouts of the detainees remain undisclosed.
It’s pertinent to mention that for the last two decades, there has been a series of enforced disappearances ongoing across Balochistan. During this period, the mutilated bodies of hundreds of people have been found and several “missing persons” have been killed reportedly in fake encounters.
Political and social circles blame Pakistani forces and intelligence agencies for being involved in these incidents in Balochistan. However, the Pakistan government opposes these allegations.
