Downtown Heroes Football Club chairman Irfan Shahmiri on Wednesday said that the club aims to revolutionize football in Kashmir by promoting local talent and focusing on developing their skills to take the sport to the next level.

The team has made history by fielding an XI consisting of 9 to 10 local players in the 2nd Division I-League, which is unprecedented, as most teams in the league acquire foreign players.

Shahmiri said that the club is providing a platform for talented local players to showcase their skills on a national scale. He added that the team’s coaching staff and management have placed their confidence in these players and will continue to support them.

Downtown Heroes is now calling on their fans to support their efforts in developing local talent and making strides in football in Kashmir.

The team will next face TechtroSwades United FC on Friday in Chandigarh and Mumbai City FC in Mumbai on April 12.

The football club’s dedication to promoting local talent is commendable, and it is hoped that their efforts will inspire other teams to follow suit, contributing to the growth of football in the region.
