Artists from across the country today showcased picturesque beauty of Kashmir on canvas at the National Arts Workshop organised by Master Sansar Chand Baru Memorial Charitable Trust under the title ‘Kadam Kadam Badhaye Ja’.

Under the ambit of Centre’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the weeklong workshop is being organised in collaboration with Centre for Cultural Resources and Training (CCRT), a wing of the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The renowned artists including Dr Sonam Sikarwar, Naushad Gayoor, Mohammad Yousaf Bachha, Javaid Iqbal, Akram Khan, Azim Hassan and Muneer Khan today depicted the splendid beauty of the Paradise on Earth, giving chance to the budding artists and art lovers of Valley to experience by themselves the power of art to replicate what the nature has made on canvas through paints and brushes. This was the unique experience for the visitors of the National Art Workshop as Kashmir’s picturesque landscapes were reproduced in a artistic manner leaving people spellbound and astonished.

Addressing the gathering, Anuradha Rishi, Trustee of Baru Trust said that the workshop is aimed at giving impetus to the genre of art and to encourage the young artists to explore their hidden talent. She said that the artifacts produced today will inspire the budding artists of Valley to try hand and produce more alluring artifacts in the coming time.

Anuradha Rishi said that Kashmir is famous for its art and culture and the time has come to again involve the young generation into this career which is not only satiating but also capable for bringing good fortune as it used bring in the past, when people from far off places used to come to Valley to appreciate its art and culture. She said that the Baru Trust is dedicated to promote art at various levels and in Kashmir its achievements are numerous because in the last several years many workshops and art camps have been organised under the ambit of this Trust and there are many working artists in the Valley, who took  the path of arts after coming in contact with Baru Trust.

Anuradha assured to continue with this endeavour in the coming times also as the sole aim of the aforesaid Trust is to spread awareness and provide platform to art and artists.
